God has sent us on a mission

immersed-in-our-community-no-textThe life of a Christian is designed to be active. God calls us not just to believe, but to follow the example set by his son, Jesus Christ, to be sent into the world. The church has been sent with a mission to share the gospel and live as Christ’s ambassadors so the world can see the power of God’s kingdom. This mission is central to our being. Many scripture passages describe this mission; here are a few of our favourites:

Following God’s call to be in the world

We’re thankful for the community we’re in, and strive to play an active role in it. Here are some of the things we’re up to in the neighbourhood:

Serve Project

Serve is a seven-day mission project that invited high school students, from Canada and the U.S., to New Street CRC to care for people in Burlington. This year, the students were sent around the city to show compassion for the marginalized, care for creation, provide recreation for children, perform acts of kindness, and share the gospel. Serve is about joining with God in the renewal of all things. But it’s not just a week-long trip it’s about experiencing transformation that lasts a lifetime!
